abstract A low cationic polyethoxylated castor oil is claimed, along with specific methods for obtaining this low cationic polyethoxylated castor oil. One method of preparing such low cationic low-cethoxylated castor oil is by treating the polyethoxylated castor oil with a strong cation exchange resin to remove a substantial proportion of the cations present in the untreated polyethoxylated castor oil. The low cationic low cation polyethoxylated oil can then be used to prepare formulations of various agents which have been found to be sensitive to previously commercially available polyethoxylated castor oil (CREMAPHOR3 EL).
