abstract A method and device for the disposal of media in dust form contaminated with among other things hydrocarbons and/or cyanide is characterized by the fact that the medium (4) is fed into a container (3), air (2) is passed through the medium in the container, the air (6) enriched with contaminants in the container is drawn off from the container into a bioreactor (8) containing microorganisms which degrade the contaminants biologically, the purified air is evacuated and the decontaminated medium is removed.
