abstract A process for regenerating cobalt from waste water arising from the process of oxosynthesis of alcohols, from the foam of waste water containing cobalt in the form of organocomplexes of cobalt and adsorbed cobalt salts up to 5 g/l. After draining the foam cobalt is elutriated by a solution of mineral acids such as nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid in a concentration corresponding to the required concentration of the occurring mineral cobalt salt in the aqueous solution.
