titleOfInvention NON-AQUATIC SINGLE-PHASE VISUAL VISUAL VEHICLES AND METHODS OF PRODUCING THESE
abstract A non-aqueous single-phase biocompatible viscous vehicle capable of suspending beneficial agent and dispensing the beneficial agent for an extended period of time at body temperature is disclosed. The vehicle includes solvent, surfactant, and polymer. The solvent, the surfactant and the polymer are not the same. The solvent is lauryl alcohol or lauryl lactate, the surfactant is selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohol esters, ethoxylated castor oil, polysorbates, esters or ethers of saturated alcohols, and copolymers of copolymers of polyesters, pyrrolidones, esters or ethers of unsaturated alcohols, and polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymers.
