abstract It is disclosed in the present invention the use of 5α-androstane (alkyl) -3β, 5-6β-triol in the preparation of neuroprotective drugs. The compound has significant protective effects on neuronal damage induced by cerebral ischemia, spinal cord ischemia and hypoxia, and has no apparent toxic side effects under its effective dose.
