titleOfInvention | 2-dimethylaminoethyl esters of cycloalkylacetic acids and their fumarates |
abstract | The invention concerns synthetic medicaments. Its subject are 2-dimethylaminoethyl esters of cycloalkylacetic acids, specifically cycloheptylacetic acid and 2-(n-butyl)-2-cyclopentylacetic acid, and their fumarates. The substances according to the invention, especially in the form of fumarates, have utilisable characteristics and could be used in geronto-psychopharmacology. They reinforce the retention of memory traces and favourably affect its faculties, which has been demonstrated in tests on rats. Aside from that they also have spasmolytic action on isolated smooth muscles, particularly against contraction caused by acetylcholine. The substances according to the invention can be prepared, for example, by reactions of chlorides of corresponding acids with 2-dimethylaminoethanol in boiling chloroform. The acquired bases are oily liquids, which, by neutralisation with fumaric acid, provide crystalline hydrogen fumarates. |
