Method of 99m technetium's lipophile macrocyclic complexes production |
abstract |
Complexes of technetium-99m with alkylene amine oximes having 2 or 3 carbon atoms inthe alkylene group have a core with a zero net charge, contain an 0-H-O ring closure bond and are sufficiently stable for parenteral administration. Such complexes are believed to include the structuren n where n is 2 or 3. The complexes can be made by reacting in aqueous solution under reducing conditions pertechnetate with an ethylene or propylene amine oxime. Lipophilic or other groups can be provided on any of the carbon atoms shown to give technetium-99m complexes useful for body imaging. Preferred complexes are capable of diffusing across the blood brain barrier and can be used for brain scanning. |
