abstract | 1443533 Insecticidal compositions containing chrysanthemates SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 26 Sept 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 45141/73 Heading A5E An insecticidal composition contains as an active ingredient one or more (+)-cis, trans chrysanthemates, the or each (+)-cis, trans chrysanthemate independently having a chrysanthemic acid moiety consisting of from 10 to 30% by weight of (+)-cis- and from 70 to 90% by weight of (+)-trans-chrysanthemic acid and the or each (+)-cis, trans-chrysanthemate being independently of the formula: wherein R is a radical of the formula: in which R1 is an allyl or propargyl group, R2 is a propargyl, benzyl or phenoxy group, R3 is optionally present and is a methyl group, R4 is H or an ethynyl group and Y is the group -CH=CH- or an oxygen atom, and an inert carrier. A further chrysanthemate of the formula I but having a value of R different from the value of R in the or any of the (+ )-cis - trans - chrysanthemates defined above and having a (+)-cis. trans ratio in the total amount of its chrysanthemic acid moiety different from that defined above may also be present. The compositions may also contain a known synergist for pyrethroids and a stabilizing agent such as an antioxidant or a U.V. absorber. The compositions may also contain other active compounds such as pyrethrin. DDT, BHC, methoxychlor, 0, 0-dimethyl-0-(3- methyl - 4 - nitrophenyl) - phosphorothioate, DDVP, 1-naphthyl-N-methyl carbamate, 3, 4- dimethyl phenyl-N-methyl carbamate, 3. 5-dimethyl phenyl-N-methyl carbamate, BT and BM fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers and insect hormone compounds. |
