abstract | 1494185 Fungicidal application of cyanoacetamides E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 29 Jan 1976 [30 Jan 1975 12 Dec 1975] 03610/76 Heading A5E A fungicidal composition comprises 10 parts by weight of a cyanoacetamide compound of the formula: wherein R is methyl or ethyl, and R 1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl, and from 1 to 100 parts by weight of an acidulant having a pH of 2 to 5.7 in a 1% distilled wafer mixture and a free acidity of at least 2.5 millimoles per gram of acidulant when titrated in a 1% distilled water mixture to a pH of 7. The preferred cyanoacetamide is 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide, and the acidulants preferred are fumaric, maleic and succinic acids and their sodium salts, and zinc sulfate, chloride and nitrate. The cyanoacetamide and the acidulant may be in the form of a salt. Other fungicides also may be present, in particular: maneb, mancozeb, zineb, thiram, folpet, benomyl, copper hydroxide or oxychloride, captan, dithiocarbamates and chlorothalonil. |
