abstract | The present invention provides a point-of-care test (PPDA) to detect a subject who has had an exposure to a dengue virus or an immunological relative thereof or who has reached some level of immunity against a dengue virus antigen. The method is predicated in part on the detection of a binding molecule that is specific for a dengue virus or an immunological relative thereof. PPDA comprises contacting a biological sample of the subject with a mixture of specific immunogenic components of dengue virus; and determining the presence of a complex that is formed between a binding molecule present in the biological sample and a specific immunogenic component of dengue virus; and characterizing the binding molecule present in the complex with an antibody against the colloidal gold conjugated binding molecule using reverse flow technology. |
