| abstract | 1. A medicament for treating Alzheimer's disease comprising as active components a carbostiryl derivative of the general formula: wherein A is a lower alkylene group, R is a cycloalkyl group, the link between positions 3 and 4 of the carbostiryl skeleton it is a single bond or a double bond, or one of its salts; and donepezil or one of its salts. 2. The medicament according to claim 1, further characterized in that the carbostiryl derivative is 6- [4- (1-cyclohexyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl) butoxy] -3 , 4-dihydrocarbostiryl or one of its salts. 3. The medicament according to claim 1 or 2, further characterized in that the donepezil salt is donepezil hydrochloride. 4. The use of carbostiril derivative or a salt as set forth in claim 1 or 2, and donepezil or one of its salts for the preparation of a medicament for treating Alzheimer's disease. 5. The use as claimed in claim 4, wherein the donepezil salt is donepezil hydrochloride. 6. A method for treating Alzheimer's disease comprising administering an effective amount of the carbostiryl derivative or one of its salts set forth in claim 1 or 2, and donepezil or one of its salts to a patient in need of said treatment.7 The method according to claim 6, further characterized in that the donepezil salt is donepezil hydrochloride. |
