abstract 1. A method for the treatment or reduction of the risk of a protozoan disease that comprises administering to a subject that requires it, a therapeutically effective amount of one or more indoles associated with DIM and one or more antiprotozoal agents. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said protozoan disease is leishmaniasis or trypanosomiasis. 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said protozoan disease is malaria, toxoplasmosis, cryptosporidiosis or bebesiosis. 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said protozoan disease results from an infection of Microsporidia, Trichomona, Cyclospora, Isospora or Blastocystis. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein said protozoan disease results from a Neospora infection. 6. The method of claim 2, 3, or 4, wherein said subject is a human being. 7. The method of claim 6 wherein said human is immunocompromised. 8. The method of claim 3, wherein said subject is a lamb, calf, pig, rabbit or chicken. 9. The method of claim 5, wherein said subject is a non-human mammal selected from the group consisting of a dog, cow, sheep, goat and horse.
