titleOfInvention PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF TIOTROPIO SALTS, TIOTROPAL SALTS, AS WELL AS MEDICINAL FORMULATIONS CONTAINING THEM
abstract 1.- Procedure for the preparation of new tiotropium salts of the formula 1 wherein X- means an anion, characterized in that a tiotropium salt of the formula 2 wherein Y- means an anion other than X- selected from the group consisting of halide, (C1-C10) alkyl sulfonate, alkyl- (C1-C10) sulfate, aryl (C6-C10) sulfonate, is reacted in a suitable solvent with a source of Kat-X ions, in which Kat represents a cation and X can have the aforementioned meanings. 2. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that as the source of Kat-X ions, the compounds in which the Kat cation is selected from the alkali or alkaline earth metal series are used, or in which Kat represents ammonium (NH4) or also tetraalkylammonium (N ((C1-C8) alkyl) 4+, preferably N ((C1-C4)) 4 + alkyl) 3. Method according to claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that the solvent is selected from the group consisting of water a, alcohols, amides, ethers and nitriles. 4. Process according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the Kat-X reagent is used in excess referred to the starting compound of the formula 2 used.
