titleOfInvention PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF 1-PHENYL-PYRAZOLINE-3-CARBOXYLIC ACID DERIVATIVES
abstract A process for the preparation of 1-phenyl-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid derivatives of the general formula III is described by reaction catalyzed by a base of hydrazones of the general formula I with olefins of the general formula II, having Ph, R1, R2, R3, X and Y have the following meanings: Ph stands for optionally substituted phenyl, R1 stands for hydrogen or alkyl, R2 and R3, independently of one another, stand for hydrogen, halogen, cyano, an optionally substituted organic radical, or R2 and R3, together with the carbon atom that carries them, they form a saturated or partially saturated ring of 5 or 6 atoms, X means amino, hydroxy, alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkyloxyalkyloxy, trialkylsilyloxy and trialkylsilylmethyloxy and Y means chlorine or bromine. The reaction is carried out in a two-phase system, consisting of an organic phase and an aqueous phase using a sterically hindered amine and optionally another base. These 1-phenyl-pyrazoline-3-carboxylic acid derivatives are used as so-called antidotes, that is, as agents that protect plants useful in agricultural and forest crops from unwanted damage in the case of the action of herbicides.
