A PROCESS FOR THE EXTRACTION OF COPPER FROM A COPPER SULPHATE MINE OR CONCENTRATE, WHICH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STEPS: SUBMITTING THE MINE OR CONCENTRATE TO PRESSURE OXIDATION IN THE PRESENCE OF OXYGEN AND ACID HYDROCHLORIC ACID OBTAIN A PRESSURE OXIDATION FILTERING RESULT AND AN INSOLUBLE BASIC COPPER SULPHATE SALT, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT THE PRESSURE OXIDATION IS PERFORMED IN THE PRESENCE OF A SOURCE OF IONS OF BISULPHATE OR SULPHATE THAT HAS BEEN SELECTED FROM ACID SULFIDE AND A METALLIC SULPHATE WHICH HYDROLYSES IN THE ACIDIC SOLUTION AND WHERE THE AMOUNT OF THE SOURCE OF BISULPHATE OR SULPHATE IONS CONTAINS AT LEAST THE SQUIOMETRIC AMOUNT OF SULPHATE OR BISULPHATE REQUIRED BY THE SOUTHERN SULFATE OR BISULPHATE FOR PROD LESS THE SULPHATE AMOUNT GENERATED ON SITE IN PRESSURE OXIDATION. COPPER WHEN IT HAD BEEN PRODUCED BY THE PROCESS ACCORDING TO ANY OF THE PRECEDING CLAIMS.
