The present invention discloses a photoelectrocatalytic reactor for the degradation of emergent persistent dyes present in industrial wastewater, including without limitation dyes and pharmaceuticals. The device of the invention presents a three-dimensional mesh photoelectrode, where the mesh photoanode of the photoelectrocatalytic reactor is coated with a semiconductor material, preferably selected from ZnO and W2O3 and titanium dioxide TiO2. The photoelectrocatalytic reactor of the invention presents a tubular geometry, an optical casing and an illumination source based on ultraviolet light. The photoelectrocatalytic reactor of the invention presents optimal results in relation to mass transfer, momentum, radiation and surface kinetics. |
