abstract |
SUMMARY The present invention relates to a putty-type bone filler that presents an encapsulation of a demineralized bone matrix (DBM) in a mixture of polymers. The formulation comprises a mixture of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) which is chemically activated with the inclusion of the monomer methyl methacrylate (MMA), a demineralized and lyophilized allogeneic bone matrix (DBM), a stable and biocompatible hydrogel composed of polyvinyl alcohol which is prepared in a mixture of water and ethanol (50/50). The bone filling has a low setting time which allows its application in situ. |
