abstract |
The present invention provides an animal product-free chewable veterinary formulation comprising: - an effective amount of at least one pharmaceutically active agent; - at least one disintegrant; - at least one animal product-free flavoring or - at least one binder; - at least one wetting agent; - at least one granulation solvent; and - optionally, at least one antioxidant, at least one buffer, at least one preservative agent or at least one colorant. The present invention further provides methods of producing chewable veterinary formulations and methods of increasing the palatability of oral veterinary formulations to animals by adding smoked pecan flavoring to said formulations. The present invention further provides tablets that are free of animal products. |
