The invention discloses a washing machine and a control method thereof. The bacterial content of the laundry is predicted according to the degree of soiling of the laundry, and then the sterilization procedure is adjusted. In the washing process, the turbidity of the washing water after the first washing process is obtained, which is defined as the degree of soiling of the laundry, and the soiling degree of the laundry is compared with the preset threshold of soiling degree, and the corresponding soaking is matched according to the comparison result. The time range, further combined with the working time/cycle, matches the appropriate soaking time in the corresponding soaking time range, and can perform corresponding sterilization procedures for laundry with different bacterial contents, effectively improving the sterilization effect. |
