abstract The invention relates to the field of power electronic converter control, and aims to provide a novel converter and a control method thereof for realizing optimal efficiency of a hydrogen production system. The converter is connected to a three-phase AC power supply and an electrolytic cell, and is an isolated AC/DC converter composed of two-stage converters, including a three-phase power correction rectifier module and a phase-shifting full-bridge module that are electrically connected in sequence. Electrolytic capacitors are arranged between each module; among them, the three-phase power correction rectifier module is composed of six switch tubes, and each switch tube is connected to each other to form three H-bridge structures; the phase-shift full-bridge module includes DC/AC sub-modules and AC/DC sub-modules Sub-module; wherein, the DC/AC sub-module includes a primary side H-bridge composed of four switch tubes; the AC/DC sub-module is located on the secondary side of the transformer, including a synchronous rectifier switch tube and an inductance-capacitor filter circuit, the output of which is connected to electrolytic cell. The invention has the advantages of low switching loss and wide adjustment range of the load voltage, and can meet the requirements of the hydrogen production system.
