titleOfInvention | A method for improving detail preservation performance in global tone mapping processing of HDR images |
abstract | The invention discloses a method for improving the detail preservation performance in the global tone mapping processing of high dynamic range (high dynamic range, HDR) images. First, the input HDR image is converted from an RGB representation to an IC TCP representation, thereby extracting its luminance channel. After that, the lightness is divided into several intervals by solving the K-means clustering algorithm. On this basis, the linear to equalized quantizer is used to generate the mapping look-up table of each luminance interval, so as to adjust its distribution adaptively. Finally, the luminance channel is mapped while the specular limit is applied, the chrominance channel is kept unchanged and converted back to the RGB representation, and the global tone mapping method is applied to obtain the mapping result. The present invention uses the brightness channel that is more in line with the perception of the human eye instead of the brightness channel for processing, and the brightness segmentation enables the brightness distribution of each interval to be adaptively adjusted, which can improve the detail retention performance of the global tone mapping processing. The naturalness of the mapping result. |
