Cholesteric liquid crystal layer, optical anisotropy and reflection layer |
abstract |
The present application relates to a cholesteric liquid crystal layer formed using a liquid crystal compound and having a pair of main surfaces, wherein in a cross section perpendicular to the main surfaces, a scanning electron The alignment direction of the alternate arrangement of bright parts and dark parts derived from the cholesteric liquid crystal phase observed under the microscope is inclined with respect to the main surface, and the incident direction in which the retardation becomes the smallest when light is incident on the main surface is the same as the direction of incidence. The major surfaces are not perpendicular and not parallel to the alignment direction. The present application also relates to an optically anisotropic body and a reflective layer comprising the above-mentioned cholesteric liquid crystal layer. |
