titleOfInvention Portable Ergonomic Endoscope with Disposable Cannula
abstract The present invention relates to a multi-camera, multi-spectral endoscope that provides a composite image formed from a white light stereoscopic image and a fluorescent image. Fluorescence images highlight areas of abnormal tissue without obscuring white light images. In one embodiment, the endoscope uses a white light camera and a camera with an electronically controlled color filter that switches between passing white light and passing fluorescence. In another embodiment, two white light cameras produce a stereoscopic image and the third camera is a dedicated fluorescence camera. In another embodiment, one pair of cameras produces a white light stereoscopic image and the other pair produces a stereoscopic fluorescence image. The endoscope can use a single-use part and a reusable part consisting of a camera, and can rotate the cannula and bend its front end part. In another embodiment, one of the single-use portion and the reusable portion has an axial slot and the other has an axial track that slides in the slot in one direction to assemble the endoscope, and in the other Swipe in one direction to separate the two parts.
