Use of luminescent images processed in regions of limited information identified in corresponding auxiliary images to assist medical procedures |
abstract |
A solution for ancillary medical procedures is presented. The corresponding method includes acquiring a luminescent image (205F) of a field of view (103) based on luminescent light and acquiring an auxiliary image (205R) of the field of view (103) based on an auxiliary light different from the luminescent light; the field of view (103) includes a region of interest, the The area of interest includes the target of the medical procedure (containing the luminescent substance) and one or more foreign bodies. Auxiliary information regions (210Ri) representing regions of interest free of foreign objects are identified in the auxiliary image (205R) according to their content, and luminescence information regions (210Fi) are identified in the luminescence image (205F) according to the auxiliary information regions (210Ri). The luminescence image (205F) is processed restricted to the luminescence information area (210Fi) to facilitate identification of the representation of the target within it. A computer program and corresponding computer program product for implementing the method are also presented. Furthermore, a computing device for carrying out the method and an imaging system including the same are presented. A medical procedure based on the same solution is further proposed. |
