The separator for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a porous base material, a heat-resistant layer formed on the porous base material, and an aggregate of filler particles present in dots on the surface of the heat-resistant layer, wherein the filler particles are composed of phosphorus, silicon, The compound particles of at least one of boron, nitrogen, potassium, sodium, and bromine have a phase transition point in the range of 180°C to 1000°C at which the solid phase changes to the liquid phase or thermal decomposition. The separator electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery can suppress an increase in battery resistance and suppress heat generation of the battery in a nail penetration test. |
