abstract The invention discloses the application of a melittin-mellittin composition in the preparation of antidepressant drugs, and belongs to the technical field of traditional Chinese medicines. In the present invention, lipopolysaccharide stimulation is used to establish a mouse acute depression model, and the effects of the melittin-mellittin composition on the depression model mice are evaluated through experiments such as behavioral, immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western blot. The results show that, compared with melittin or melittin alone, the melittin-mellittin combination has a synergistic effect and can significantly improve the depressive-like behavior and pathological characteristics of mice induced by lipopolysaccharide. The results suggest that the melittin-mellittin composition of the present invention can be used to prepare antidepressant drugs.
