The present invention relates to a dosage form comprising a biologically active ingredient for the treatment or prophylaxis of a disease in an animal or human requiring the release of 50% or more of the organism in the small intestine in the range of pH 3 to pH 5.5 an active ingredient, wherein said dosage form comprises: a) a core comprising said biologically active ingredient, b) an intermediate coating layer (ICL) on or above said core, the intermediate coating layer comprising an alkaline agent, and c) an enteric coating layer (ECL) on or above the intermediate coating layer, the enteric coating layer comprising an enteric polymer, wherein the relationship of the alkaline agent to the enteric polymer is as 5% to 95% when calculated by the following formula (I), excluding the biologically active ingredient which is a proton pump inhibitor belonging to the class of substituted benzimidazole compounds. |
