abstract The present application relates to a preservative, its preparation method and cosmetics. The preservative includes: (A) a salt of anisic acid and a weak base selected from the group consisting of matrine, leonurine, lysine, arginine an acid or a combination thereof; (B) a solvent, wherein the molar concentration of the component (A) is 0.02-0.1 mol/L. In the preservative provided by the present application, anisic acid is dissolved in a solvent in the form of a salt of anisic acid and a weak base, which solves the problem of low solubility of anisic acid and enhances its preservative effect. The preservative is used in cosmetics as a natural source of preservative without causing damage to human skin.
