A method for recycling a battery is disclosed, comprising the steps of: a) dissolving battery waste, such as electrodes, comprising lithium and a metal selected from cobalt and manganese, thereby forming a to-be-treated solution containing lithium ions and metal ions; b ) Add peroxymonosulfate to the solution to be treated, and adjust the pH of the solution to be treated between 1 and 4 when the metal is cobalt, or between 0.1 and 2.5 when the metal is manganese , thereby selectively precipitating metal ions in the form of metal oxyhydroxides; and c) separating lithium ions from the solution to be treated. Advantageously, the solution also includes nickel ions. |
