The method includes receiving, from a base station (BS), configuration information associated with a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble, a root sequence index of the PRACH preamble, and zero correlation zone (ZCZ) configuration information Determine the sequence length of the PRACH preamble based on the configuration information associated with the SCS of the PRACH preamble; Determine the sequence number of the PRACH preamble based on the root sequence index; Determine the cyclic shift of the PRACH preamble based on the ZCZ configuration information; and A PRACH preamble based on sequence number, cyclic shift and sequence length is sent to the base station.
