The present invention provides the application of a circRNA OGDH (CircOGDH) as a biomarker for diagnosing acute cerebral infarction (acute ischemic stroke) and predicting the penumbra, in particular to the use of CircOGDH as a biomarker in the preparation of diagnostic acute Detection reagents for ischemic stroke and prediction of ischemic penumbra area and use in diagnostic kits or diagnostic preparations. The CircOGDH of the present invention is highly expressed in the ischemic penumbra neurons of mice with cerebral infarction, and is also found to be highly expressed in the peripheral blood plasma of patients with acute cerebral infarction, so it can be used as a biomarker for diagnosing acute ischemic stroke.
