abstract The invention discloses an adaptive millimeter wave beam tracking method based on extended Kalman filtering. The beam tracking method disclosed in the present invention firstly determines the maximum and minimum tracking intervals according to the change rate of the channel angle, and then judges whether to use the extended Kalman filter for tracking by comparing the changes of the signal-to-noise ratio after beamforming before and after tracking. The method disclosed in the present invention does not need to know the instantaneous gain of the channel, only needs to take the angle change of the channel as the amount to be estimated, and can automatically adjust the frequency of beam tracking in real time according to the rate of angle change of the communication channel. Extend beam tracking time and reduce beam tracking overhead.
