abstract | The invention relates to the technical field of thickeners, in particular to a carbomer and a preparation method thereof. The carbomer of the present invention is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 100 parts of acrylic monomers, 5.0-8.0 parts of acrylamide, 0.5-2.0 parts of hydroxyethyl acrylate, 0.4-0.6 parts of initiator, and cross-linking agent 0.6-1.4 parts, stabilizer 0.4-1.0 parts, mixed solvent 800-1000 parts. The specific method includes the following steps: mixing the mixed solvent uniformly and adding it into the reaction kettle, turning on the stirring, and raising the temperature to 80-85 °C; then mixing the mixed monomer, crosslinking agent, initiator and stabilizer uniformly, then adding it into the reaction kettle, The dropwise addition time is 2-2.5h; after the dropwise addition, the incubation reaction is continued for 3-5h; and the obtained product is filtered, washed, and dried to obtain. The carbomer prepared by the invention is made into an aqueous solution with a mass fraction of 0.5%, and the wetting time is only 55-178s. After adjusting the pH value to 6.8-7.5 with a 15% mass fraction of NaOH solution, the viscosity is 5000-80000mPa·s , and can be swollen in 80% volume fraction of ethanol aqueous solution. |
