Specifically, the present invention provides a linear actuator for a camera module, and the linear actuator can be applied to mobile devices such as smart phones. The linear actuator includes a piston connectable to or connected to a driven element of the camera module. Additionally, the linear actuator includes: one or more lever arms connected to the piston; and one or more SMA wires, wherein each SMA wire is coupled to one of the lever arms. The one or more SMA wires are operable to change their length, thereby moving the one or more lever arms to produce linear motion of the piston. |
