abstract Offset illumination using multiple emitters in a fluorescence imaging system is described. A system is disclosed that includes a transmitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor including an array of pixels for sensing the reflected electromagnetic radiation. The transmitter includes a first transmitter and a second transmitter for emitting electromagnetic radiation of different wavelengths. The system causes at least a portion of the pulse of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the transmitter to comprise electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of about 770 nm to about 795 nm and/or about 795 nm to about 815 nm.
