titleOfInvention Acousto-optic isolator based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer and application method thereof
abstract The invention discloses an acousto-optic isolator based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and an application method thereof. The acousto-optic isolator comprises a beam splitter, a first nonreciprocal arm, a second nonreciprocal arm and a beam combiner; the first nonreciprocal arm comprises a first acousto-optic waveguide a, a first common optical waveguide and a first acousto-optic waveguide b which are respectively used as a frequency shift band, a phase shift band and a frequency shift band; the second nonreciprocal arm sequentially comprises a second acoustic optical waveguide a, a second common optical waveguide and a second acoustic optical waveguide b which are respectively used as a frequency shifting band, a phase shifting band and a frequency shifting band; when the acoustic mode is excited, the propagation directions of the first nonreciprocal arm and the second nonreciprocal arm are opposite. The invention can realize an isolator or a circulator by utilizing the acousto-optic interaction so as to realize the excellent nonreciprocal performance of large bandwidth, high isolation, low extra loss, low power consumption and the like and the flexible reconfigurable regulation of the isolator or the circulator. In addition, the invention has simple structure and low cost and is convenient for industrial application.
