abstract |
The present application relates to fuse logic for selectively enabled ECC decoding. The fuse logic is configured to selectively enable specific groups of fuses in the fuse array to support one of column (or row) redundancy in one application or error correction code ECC operation in another application. For example, the fuse logic may decode the group of fuses to enable replacement columns (or rows) of memory cells in one mode or application, and the subgroups of the group of fuses The group decodes to retrieve the ECC data corresponding to the second group of fuses encoded to enable different replacement columns or rows of memory cells in the second mode or application. The fuse logic includes ECC decoding logic that is selectively enabled to decode the ECC data based on the ECC data encoded in the subset of fuses in the first group of fuses.
