Photoacoustic diagnostic systems, devices, and methods are described. A system for photoacoustic determination of oxygenation of a subject may include a light source configured to emit a first light having a first wavelength, a second wavelength different from the first wavelength to tissue a second light and a third light having a third wavelength different from the first wavelength and the second wavelength; an acoustic transducer configured to detect a second light emitted by the tissue in response to the first emitted light, a second light a first amplitude, a second amplitude and a third amplitude of the sound pressure generated by the second emitted light and the third emitted light, respectively; and a processor configured to be based on the difference between the first amplitude and the second amplitude The oxygenation of the subject is determined by a first difference of and a second difference between the first amplitude and the third amplitude. |
