abstract The invention provides a pig face detection method based on newly added Haar-like features, and relates to the field of image processing. In this method, new features designed for pig faces are added to the original basic Haar-like feature set, and the gray level change features on the T area of the pig face are designed for the situation that the T area of the pig face is easy to be dirty. The grayscale change features of the cheek and eye regions are designed for the pig nose. The new features and the original features are trained by the Adaboost algorithm to obtain a strong classifier, and then cascaded to obtain a pig face classifier. Compared with the traditional Haar‑like features, the new features have better detection effect for the unclean pig face. This method has higher accuracy for pig face detection, reduces the false recognition rate, and has better robustness.
