Thin and uniform silver nanowires, synthesis method and transparent conductive film formed from the nanowires |
abstract |
The present application relates to thin and uniform silver nanowires, methods of synthesis, and transparent conductive films formed from the nanowires. The present invention describes highly uniform and thin silver nanowires with an average diameter of less than 20 nanometers and a small standard deviation of diameters. The silver nanowires have a high aspect ratio. The silver nanowires may be characterized by a small number of nanowires having diameters greater than 18 nanometers and having a blue-shifted narrow absorption spectrum in dilute solution. Methods are described that allow the synthesis of narrow and uniform silver nanowires. Transparent conductive films formed from thin and uniform silver nanowires can have very low levels of haze and low ΔL* (diffuse luminosity) values, so that the transparent conductive films can provide little change in the appearance of a black background. |
