The invention also provides a preparation method and application of the melioidosis bacteria polysaccharide. The polysaccharide can be used as an antigen to be specifically combined with serum of patients with melioidosis and not react with serum of healthy donors, so that the polysaccharide antigen can identify specific antibodies in the serum of patients with melioidosis and can be used for preparing medicines for diagnosing or preventing melioidosis infection.
