abstract The invention discloses a novel opacifier for capsules as well as a preparation method and application thereof, wherein the opacifier comprises the following components in parts by weight: 50-90 parts of calcium carbonate, 5-45 parts of talcum powder and 1-9 parts of calcium lactate, wherein the preparation method comprises the steps of weighing the calcium carbonate, the talcum powder and the calcium lactate according to the parts by weight, and uniformly mixing to obtain the opacifier; meanwhile, the invention also discloses application of the novel opacifier for the capsule in preparing hollow capsules and soft capsule wall materials. The novel opacifier for capsules disclosed by the invention does not contain titanium dioxide and heavy metals, has good light shading performance, solubility and stability, and can meet the requirements of the opacifier for capsules.
