abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a silicon carbide-containing honeycomb structure capable of stably producing a silicon carbide-containing honeycomb structure that uses recycled raw materials and suppresses a decrease in thermal conductivity and a decrease in collection efficiency. A manufacturing method, which is a manufacturing method of a second silicon carbide-containing honeycomb structure, comprising: using, as a starting material, a recycled raw material derived from a material constituting a first silicon carbide-containing honeycomb structure in a process after firing wherein the starting raw material includes silicon carbide and metal silicon, and the regenerated raw material is a powder obtained from the material constituting the first silicon carbide-containing honeycomb structure in the post-firing process After recovery, the particle size is adjusted to a powder with a 10% particle size (D10) of 10 μm or more and a 50% particle size (D50) of 35 μm or less when measuring the cumulative particle size distribution on a volume basis by the laser diffraction scattering method.
