abstract Some embodiments of the present disclosure include systems, apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for use in wireless networks for designing quality reporting for Enhanced Machine Type Communication (EMTC) and Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IOT). For example, some embodiments relate to a user equipment (UE) that includes a radio front end circuit and a processor circuit coupled to the radio front end circuit. The processor circuit may be configured to determine a DL quality metric based on a downlink (DL) quality metric type and to identify a message 3 (Msg3) signal based on the determined DL quality metric. The processor circuit may be further configured to transmit the identified Msg3 signal to the base station using the radio front end circuit.
