abstract The invention discloses a genetic engineering bacterium for synthesizing carotenoid and a construction method thereof. The construction of the genetically engineered bacteria is to connect the key enzyme genes crtE, crtB, crtI, crtLm, cruF, crtD and crtO in the carotenoid synthesis pathway of Deinococcus xibeiensis R13 with the expression vector to construct a recombinant plasmid, and then transform it into Escherichia coli , to obtain new genetically engineered bacteria that synthesize carotenoids. The engineered bacteria constructed by the invention can be used to produce carotenoids, and the final carotenoid yield is significantly improved, and has good application prospects.
