The present invention provides a method for preparing aldehyde or ketone by alcohol oxidation. Using water as solvent, hydrated ferric nitrate (Fe(NO 3 ) 3 9H 2 O), 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine oxide (4-OH-TEMPO) and carboxyl Acids are used as catalysts and oxygen or air is used as oxidant to oxidize alcohols to aldehydes or ketones. Compared with the prior art, the present invention uses water as a solvent, avoids the use of polluting halogenated hydrocarbons or sodium nitrite (NaNO 2 ), a strong carcinogen, and is more green and environmentally friendly, and the cost is also greatly reduced, which is suitable for industrial production.
