A respiratory therapy system is provided, comprising: a flow generator; a humidifier; a breathing conduit; a patient interface coupled to the breathing conduit to deliver airflow to a patient; a sensor configured to determine the pressure of the airflow or a flow; a controller configured to control the flow generator to generate the flow; and the controller configured to: a) obtain a flow associated with or indicative of gas flow and/or pressure in the breathing conduit at least one first signal; b) determining, for at least a portion of the acquired at least one first signal, a measurement of at least one first parameter associated with a gas flow disturbance and/or a pressure disturbance; and c) based at least in part on The measurement(s) of at least one first parameter meeting a first threshold determine the presence of liquid in the breathing conduit. The system can be used to reduce or alleviate condensation in breathing gas delivery conduits. |
