abstract |
A respiratory therapy device includes a blower and one or more auxiliary devices for providing a flow of breathable gas to a patient. Respiratory therapy devices include active power management to distribute power from a power source that does not have enough power to power the blower and auxiliary devices simultaneously. Active power management prioritizes powering the blower and limits the power supplied to the accessory device based on current measurements of the blower and accessory device to keep the sum of the power drawn at or below the capacity of the power supply. When additional power is available, power to the one or more accessory devices is boosted above the target due to reduced power consumption by the blower to compensate for when power is not being supplied to the one or more accessory devices. |
