abstract | The present invention provides an energy storage device comprising a negative electrode, a positive electrode, at least one separator between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, an electrolyte, and at least one metallized film in contact with at least one of the negative electrode and the positive electrode a current collector, at least one tab attached to the at least one metallized thin film current collector, wherein the at least one metallized thin film current collector includes a polymer substrate layer having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the first metallized layer is placed on top of a polymer substrate, and a second metallization layer is attached to the bottom layer of polymer substrate, wherein the current collector exhibits solder bumps such that at least the first metallization layer and the second metallization layer are part of each other. |
