abstract Provided are a method for quantifying L-FABP or oxidized L-FABP in an arbitrary sample, a kit for the quantification thereof, a method for detecting a renal disease based on the result of the quantification of L-FABP or oxidized L-FABP in the urine of a subject, a kit for the detection thereof, and a concomitant diagnostic agent. A method for quantifying a hepatic fatty acid binding protein, the method comprising the step of quantifying the hepatic fatty acid binding protein under conditions in which a treatment for promoting an antigen-antibody reaction is performed and the measurement sensitivity of an oxidized hepatic fatty acid binding protein is higher than the measurement sensitivity of an unoxidized hepatic fatty acid binding protein.
